Earlier this week, defense distributed, operator of the DEFCAD website that hosts hundreds of firearm parts, was ordered to remove its fully printable gun called the “LIBERATOR”.

Unlike all the other files on DEFCAD, the liberator is the only fully functional firearm that can be printed with a 3D printer. All of the other parts on their website are for parts and accessories, not actual full models of firearms.

When Defense Distributed received the notice to remove the Liberator files from its databases, it complied. The files already had 100,000 downloads. The folder contains files that can be printed to assemble a fully functional firearm.

The DEFCAD website displays “DEFCAD files are being removed from public access at the request of the US Department of Defense Trade Controls.
Until further notice, the United States government claims control of the information” at the tops of its page.

Many thought that was the end of the liberator but then something happened. The files were uploaded to The Pirate Bay, a website operated out of Switzerland known for its movie and music downloads. The files on the The pirate Bay are the original and are free to download whenever and wherever.

Like 99% of the Pirate Bay Files, the government cannot legally shut them down, as we see that no movies have been removed from the site as an effect of government intervention.

So for now, the files remain open for use and download, in their original form. You can find the files by going to ThePirateBay.org (RESIST1776.INFO IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR ACTIVITY ON THE PIRATE BAY SITE). Just search for “DefDist Defcad Liberator”. You will then see the files in which you have several options, including to download it.

Freedom always prevails. There are patriots out there that will go through all the trouble to ensure that these files and those like it are protected from government involvement.

The 3D printing revolution came just a few months back when Cody Wilson, leader of Defense Distributed, developed a prototype AR-15 receiver that could actually be used with the rifle. Updates to the design have made it even stronger.

The files have expanded to include parts for other firearms including their “mega pack” that includes over 50 firearm part files.

To download all the other files that, for now, are on the site click here.
